Every Doctor who provides services for which payment is made from Medicare needs to be publicised in the directory of those numbers.

I’ve looked all over and could not find the history of the Doctor UPIN Number. I think it is because it became obsolite second quarter of 2007.

This is a result of the government discontinuing the use of the Doctors UPIN or Physician UPIN the second quarter of 2007. Here’s the link to view the complete UPIN Search Posting for Medical Billing Info. 

It has been replaced with what is called a NPI Number. The format is different now so you must learn different methods for coding.
